Qualities We Are Looking For
When we look for new team members we are interested in people who possess the following qualities:
- Enjoy working in teams and interacting with other people. Most of the work we do requires very close collaboration between people. If you are good at teaching this would be a plus as we want to learn from one another.
- Mental agility: Change happens all the time. It is important that team members are willing and able to embrace change, and that they perceive change as an opportunity rather than as a threat. Mental agility is also important to adapt to other people.
- Software Development Skills: You should be proficient with object-oriented concepts and with C-based languages (C# preferred).
- Abstract thinking: It is important that you are able to think in concepts, in systems, and in abstraction. You should also be able to move back and forth between an abstract level and a concrete level.
- Problem Solver: Software can at times be complex. Finding pragmatic solutions is an important trait for a team's success.
- Keen learner: Skills, knowledge, and experience age. We need to refresh all of them sooner or later. Team members need to be life-long learners.
